There are a lot of people who are very excited about seeing the new Gore Verbinski movie A Cure for Wellness, which boasts a very exciting cast including the beautiful and talented Mia Goth. Well, the actress has now been talking about shooting A Cure for Wellness, claiming that they had to spend quite a lot of time in one of the most haunted places in the world.
Goth was chatting to Collider, when she explained to them, "We shot in a place called Beelitz, which used to be a hospital in World War I and World War II, and the Soviets used to send their dissidents there and it's known as the most haunted place in Germany and we would shoot there for nights at a time and there was a lot of water work of being just wet and cold and intense, very very intense."
As well as having to shoot in such a haunted place, Mia Goth also went on to reveal how the movie actually took much longer to shoot than it probably would have under a different director. Mia says that Gore Verbinski wanted to make the horror movie as authentic and scary as possible, so took the time to make sure that everything was just right.
She added, "We shot this film for five months, and it wasn't because of the visual effects, it was because he wanted to make a good quality scary movie, not many movies are made like that any more. A lot of films are made fast and cheap, but we really took our time to make a good quality film and I really think you see that. Gore has the whole film story boarded before we even get to set so he knows exactly what he wants and won't compromise on that, you feel very safe around him."
A Cure for Wellness is out now in the US and is set to hit the big screen in the UK on February 24.
